Vivian Marie Lee Obituary (1954 - 2017)

Vivian Marie Lee departed life peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2017, her mother's birthday. Vivian had been a resident at the Levindale Hebrew Geriartic Center in Baltimore since she was severely injured in a house fire on May 5, 2014. Vivian was born on May 17, 1954 to the late William O. Lee, Jr. and Cynthia Frances Bayton Lee. Vivian was educated in Frederick County Public Schools and graduated from Frederick High School in 1972. She was a member of the cheerleader squad and was the only African American member of the YMCA Girls Swim Team. Today, Vivian would be known as a "computer geek". She began her career in IT in the mid-1970s and continued until she became disabled five years ago. She was a top notched computer programmer and received many promotions and awards for her outstanding performance. Previously employed at the Bureau of Standards and Geico, she also was a consultant and independent contractor. Vivian had a passion for animals. Over the years she rescued three dogs - Peabo, Paco and Moses. She also had two cockatiels - Eddie Murphy, who would whistle at any woman he saw, and Yakkidy, who sadly perished in the 2014 house fire. Vivian was very creative, getting her flair for decorating from her mother. She could take an average room and transform it into something out of a magazine. She was determined and loved deeply. If Vivian loved you, there was nothing she wouldn't do to make you happy. In addition to her parents Vivian was preceded in death by her brother William O. Lee, III (Ozzie); her maternal grandparents, Donald and Amanda Bayton; her paternal grandparents, William O., Sr. and Vivian Lee; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by: one brother, Hugh Andrew Lee; adoptive brother, Zhou Wang; two aunts, Gloria Weedon and Mary Lee; first cousins, Rosemary Cook-Glover, Laverne Seabron, Levert D. Seabron, Amanda Seabron (Savannah), Lynda Bowie (Kenneth), Juanita Livingston (Steven), Sheila Scales (Robert), Michael Weedon (Denise), Carolyn Smith (Paul), Clifford Lee, Christy Lee and many other Lee cousins. She is also survived by very special friend, Denise Tyler Littleford and devoted friends Lawrence Dyson, Watu Mwariami, Perry Onley, Faye Davis Page and Charlene Bowie Clark. A celebration of Vivian's life will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 101 W. All Saints St. Frederick, MD, with Rev. Mark Groover officiating. Family hour will be held 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
