Sherri Lynn Lewis Obituary (1964 - 2019)

Sherri Lynn Rippeon Lewis, 54 of Harpers Ferry, WV, formally of Frederick, MD passed into the loving arms of Christ on April 23, 2019 after a courageous fight, battling many health issues at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA. Sherri was born on November 28, 1964 to John William Rippeon, Sr. and Mary Louise Esworthy Rippeon. She was the wife of Edward T. Lewis and loving mother of Michael Bradley Rippeon (Yvonnedra) of Brunswick, MD, Mitchell Edward Weedon (Maddy) of Phoenix, AZ, and her special god daughter Shyann Jackson. She was the loving grandmother of Bryanna, Bradley, Airyanna, Olivia, Demitrius, and Amyah. Sherri, affectingly known as Big Momma, will be remembered by Niki Horner, The Wiley Family, the Frailey Family, Kristy Jackson, and many more. Sherri had previously worked at Eastalco until its closing, then Hood College (where she met her husband, Ed) and, until her health declined, at Berkley Medical Center. She was a member of Ebenezer A.M.E. church in Brunswick, MD, where she served on the Missionary Board. Sherri is survived by her: husband Ed; sons, Michael Rippeon and Mitchell Weedon; stepdaughter, Kristy Jackson; sisters, Donna Campbell (Jerry) and Kim Pyles (Rodney); brother, Galen Rippeon (Sandy); sister-in-law, Sally Rippeon; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, John William Rippeon, Jr. The family will greet friends from 5 - 8 pm on Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home, 110 W. South Street, Frederick, MD. Services will be held at Thomas Tabernacle, 517 S. Market Street, Frederick, MD on Saturday, April 27, 2019 with a viewing at 12 pm and funeral service at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sherri's name to Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, in Brunswick, MD.
