Larry Edward Bowie Obituary (1950 - 2016)

Larry (Herc) Edward Bowie, 65, of Berryville, VA, departed this life on July 6, 2016. He was born October 12, 1950, in Frederick, MD, to Caroline F. Bowie and the late Edward Gant. Larry graduated from T.J. High in 1969 and went on to play many years of semi-pro football for the Frederick Falcons. He retired from Potomac Edison and the U.S. Army Reserve. Larry loved walking his dogs, lifting weights, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and was a die-hard Oakland Raiders fan. In addition to his mother, he leaves to cherish his memory his son, Brian Lee, Baltimore, MD; stepdaughter, Shiffon Jackson, Berryville, VA; brothers, Wayne Bowie, Hagerstown, MD, and Byron Bowie, Sr. (Judy), Frederick, MD; sisters, Sharon and Karen Bowie, both of Frederick, MD; longtime friend, Loriann Perkins; lifetime friends, Rudolph Jurricks and Michael Bowie; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Derrus Lee.
