Johnny Isreal Simms Obituary (1963 - 2021)

Johnny Israel Simms, "Pete", gained his wings on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Born on May 12, 1963 in Montgomery County, MD, he was the son of the late William Simms and Mildred Nelson. He was preceded in death by his siblings Dorthia, Gertrude, Bertha, Vernon, and Joseph. Johnny, who was fondly called "Pete", attended Montgomery County Public Schools. He worked for a local trash truck company. In his later years he began working for various asphalt companies. He enjoyed playing cards, going to the racetracks and the casino. His brother-in-law Albert introduced him to fishing. "Pete" enjoyed going fishing with him. Johnny, "Pete" met his lifelong companion Lucile Lee at the tender age of 12. It was love at first sight. From this union are five sons, Steven, Tony, Markus, Robert, Brian; one daughter, Shawntae Simms; two sisters, Mary and Mildred; three brothers, David (Tracy), William (DeEsther), James (Cindy); brother-in- law, Albert; 6 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
