Janis Lavere Howard Obituary (1948 - 2019)

Janis "Moppy" Lavere Howard, 70 years old of Frederick, MD, transitioned this life peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 12, 2019. Janis was the daughter of the late Dorothy Jenkins Brown and the late Charles "Snoots" Brown, Sr. She was a graduate of Frederick High School. Janis married John Howard on June 28, 1969. They lived out their union for 50 years according to their vows until their earthly vessels were separated last Saturday. She was a virtuous woman who loved the Lord and her family. The care and love she showed her family were also extended to many of the children that attended her daycare over the years. She is survived by her: children John Wesley Howard III (Paula) and Shyra Davis and 3 grandchildren, Noah Howard, Anthony Davis and Aubrey Davis. She also leaves to cherish her memory: siblings, Charles "Jenks" Jenkins (Jean); Seena Morina (Tyrone), all of Frederick, MD; Jacqueline Gray (Aubrey) of Ijamsville, MD; Karen (Kimmy) Jenkins of Hagerstown, MD; Bernard Sneed (Dorothy) of Dorchester, MA; Phillip Sneed of Orlando, FL; Isaac Sneed of NY; Elijah Sneed of Dorchester, MA; Charles Brown Jr. of West Point, GA; Molly Wade (John) of Dorchester MA; Monique Brown-Diaw (Djibil) of Senegal, Africa; Bonnita Brown-Crane (Lorenzo) of Quantico, VA; Brenda Brown of Sanford, FL; and Silver Brown of Prince George's County, MD; aunts, Margaret and Frances Jenkins of Frederick, MD; uncle Austin Jenkins of Las Vegas, NV; brother-in-law Tommy Harp; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Ronald Jenkins, Velma Israel, Judy Brown Parker, Fred Sneed, George Sneed, and Linda Sneed.
