Henry "Sandy" Brown, III Obituary (1940 - 2020)

Henry "Sandy" Brown III Obituary Mr. Henry "Sandy" Brown, III, 79, of Frederick, MD, gained his wings on April 1, 2020 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Sandy was born Nov 5, 1940 in Frederick, MD to the late Henry Brown, Jr. and Violet Duckett Brown. Sandy graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1958. From there he attended Morgan State University until he decided to join the United States Navy, where he served for 4 years. After completing active duty, Sandy returned to his hometown of Frederick, MD and began working at Fort Detrick. He then worked as a supervisor at Eastalco Aluminum Plant until his retirement. On Dec. 19, 1970, Sandy married his loving wife, Catherine Wars Brown, and four years later was blessed with their daughter, Keshia Brown. This year they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage. Sandy Brown loved his family, especially when holidays came around and they had family gatherings. Sandy was always about his business in everything he did or whatever was asked of him. Sandy leaves behind to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Catherine Brown of Frederick, MD; daughters, Keshia Brown of Frederick, MD and Denise Brown O'Neal of Savannah, GA; 4 grandsons, John Thomas III and Markel Thomas of Frederick, MD, and twin, Tavon and Tavares O'Neal of Savannah, GA; 4 great grandchildren, his angel baby, Ke'mari Thomas (Markel), Kaiyomi Thomas (Markel), Noah Thomas, his only great grandson (John), and Imani O'Neal (Tavon); 3 siblings, a sister whom he loved dearly, Charlene Ivy (Melvin) of Mitchellville, MD, and brothers whom he had nothing but love for, Ronnie Brown (Sandra) of Waldorf, MD and Wayne Brown (Isabelle) of Baltimore, MD; numerous nieces; nephew, Melvin Ivy, Jr.; and a host of cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Sandy was preceded in death by his sister, Sherly Ambush. Funeral services will be held on Weds., April 8, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home in Frederick, MD. Due to restrictions on gatherings, the public may view services (and express condolences) at www.garylrollinsfuneralhome.com.
