Harriet Ann Ames Obituary (1926 - 2017)

Harriet Ann Ames, 90, of Frederick, MD, went home to be with her heavenly Father on September 9, 2017, at Frederick Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home. Harriet was the daughter of the late Jesse Rollins and Janie Herbert Rollins of Frederick, MD. Harriet resided in Frederick, MD, and attended Sunnyside Community Church School. She was employed as a licensed Blood Pressure Specialist and as a Sales Clerk at Allen's Jewelry Store. She was a member of Thomas Tabernacle Holiness Church of God, Inc. She was an Evangelist who served as the church Treasurer, a Trustee, and Sunday School Superintendent. She also served on the pastor's aide committee, mother's board, and church choir. Harriet was the founder and President of the Community Fellowship Organization and held services at Taney Village. Harriet leaves to cherish her memory her sons, David E. Rollins (Sandra) and Norman R. Ames (LaTonya); daughter, Alice E. Ames; grandchildren, David Frazier (Brenda), Latasha Carswell, Tyrone Holland, Janelle Rollins, Ieshia Ames, and Robert T. Ames; great-grandchildren, Darnell, DaVell, Amant'e, MaKayah, Demetris, Morgan, and Jaden; sisters, Alice McBride, Ida G. Brown, and Virginia Rollins; one beloved sister-in-law and friend, Rosiland Rollins; Godchildren, Beth Bowins, Clarise Rollins-Swann, and Keith Worthington (Beatriz); and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Ames, of Syracuse, NY; seven brothers, Chester, Joe, Johnny, Arthur, Adam, Roger, and Jesse Rollins, Jr.; and six sisters, Cora Wilford, Jane Moore, Francis Addison, Clara Biggus, Eve Rollins and Mary Long.
