Gary A. "Fox" Davis Obituary (1954 - 2019)

Gary Anthony Davis Sr age 65, died on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Gaithersburg, MD. Gary, affectionally known as "Fox," was born in Bethesda, MD on May 11, 1954 to the late Maybell and Wade Davis Sr. For nine years, Gary was employed by A. B. Veirs & Sons, where he built a special bond with a colleague and friend, J.J. Veirs. Gary drove a Lo Boy tractor trailer delivering heavy equipment to worksites all over the DMV area and sometimes traveling to neighboring states. Gary was a professional and took his work very seriously. He was a committed employee. Gary loved to fish and hunt with his North Carolina friends, Leo Meritt Sr., Leo Jr. and Joe Montague. He also liked anything NASCAR, "smokin'" different foods on his backyard smoker and sharing with his family and friends. He was also an artist of sorts, drawing pictures of motorcycles and creatingand& laying beautiful patios and walkways. Gary was also a mechanic repairing cars and motorcycles for family and friends. His passion was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Cherishing Gary's memory are his: loving wife of twelve years, Yolanda Davis; son, McKenzie Shepis; stepdaughter, Tiffany Curtis (D'Anthony); grandchildren, Kenedi Davis, Chandler Bailey, Jackson West, and Thomas West; siblings, Dorothy Hebron, Peggy Moore (Millard), Wade Davis, Sr. (Cora), Delores Maxine Lynn (Merrill), Jackie Davis, Veronica Davis, Mvelyn Pearson (Jules), Evelyn Davis, Thomas Davis (Jeannie), Tyrone Davis, Rita Chambers (Robert), and Kelly Washington (Robert); mother-in-law, Katherine Waters (Ruize); four sisters-in-law, Comerleta Cooks, Angela Waters-Ison, Tammy Cross (Tod), and Katrina Waters; uncle, William Hebron; very special aunt, Beatrice Jackson; very close friend, Timmy Evans; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Anthony Davis, Jr.
