Francis "Brother" Ferguson Obituary (1956 - 2015)

Francis "Brother" Ferguson, 59, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday July 2, 2015. Born on April 11, 1956, he was the son of the late Dorothy Ferguson-Hoy and Carroll Hoy Jr. Also preceded in death by his biological father, Bernard Ambush Jr. Born and raised in Frederick, MD, Brother attended Frederick High School, played sports and was an avid Redskins fan. He was employed by several moving companies (Meadows Van and Storage, Snowdens, etc.). Following high school, Brother enlisted in the Army where he served his country with dignity and pride. Brother enjoyed spending quality time with his children, siblings, nieces and nephews. The word "NO" was not a part of his vocabulary; he was dedicated to helping others regardless of the situation or circumstances. Brother was a member of Community Baptist Church where he was baptized. He is survived by his siblings, Perry Ferguson (Vicky), Tyrone Ferguson Sr (Gloria), Valentina Hoy, Linda Caldwell (Rick), and Wendy Hoy-Johnson (Ronnie); stepbrother Damon Jackson; his children, Nichelle Fisher (Chris), Adrian Henderson-Ferguson, Kiki Myers (Troy), Amber Benson (Derrick), and Phyllis "Bang" Ferguson (Charles); 7 grandchildren, Korrell, Zavianna, Jaziah, Kemiyah, Rylie, Aliyah, and Jazmine; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; devoted nieces Cherita Coleman and Chizana Caldwell; special aunt Grace Cartnail; devoted and loving girlfriend, Gene Weedon; and devoted and loyal friends, Wayne King and Fanny Holland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Cornelius Westley Ferguson, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, with public viewing at 9 a.m., the family receiving friends at 10 a.m., and the funeral beginning at 11 a.m. Interment at Fairview Cemetery.
