Elizabeth Murray-Porter Obituary (1920 - 2012)

Elizabeth Peeks (Murray) Porter, 92, of Frederick, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Wed, Sept. 26,2012, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD after a brief illness. Elizabeth was born onFeb. 26, 1920, in Ocilla, GA to the late David and Rosa Peeks.She lived in Fort Pierce, FL for more than sixty years before relocation to Frederick, MD.While in Fort Pierce, she was an avid gardener and loved attending to her beautiful flower garden.She was also a faithful member of St. Paul AME Church in Fort Pierce, FL. After moving to Frederick in 2001, she became a faithful member of the Quinn Chapel AME uder the leadership and guidance of Pastor Luke J. Robinson. She is survived by a loyal and devoted brother, Eugene A. Peeks, andis wife, Deborah, of Mount Pleasant, in Frederick, MD, with whom she resided.She is also survived by daughter Vanessa Jones of Philadelphia, PA and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Se was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and her nine brothers and sisters. Homegoing services will be held on Sat., Oct. 6, 2012, at the Quinn Chapel AME Church, 106 E. Third St., Frederick, MD, with Pastor Luke J. Robinson presiding.Viewing will begin at 9 a.m., with the family hour at 10 a.m. and funeral services at 11 a.m.A private interment service will be held in Florida.
