Darius J. Randolph Obituary (1993 - 2020)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darius Joseph Randolph on May 15, 2020. He is now one with the Lord and joining many family and friends that went before him. Born Sept. 29, 1993 to Wayne Randolph and Lynette Robinson in Silver Spring, MD, he was also the grandson of Joseph and Docia Randolph. He also leaves to treasure his memory his: loving sisters, Sable and Druselita Randolph; precious brother, Jamal Robinson; stepdad and friend, Michael Robinson; stepmother, Vanessa Randolph; and stepsisters, Brianna and Alexis Haskins. He also leaves behind close aunts, uncles and cousins to cherish in his memory. Darius was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leon and Clara Bean. Darius loved animals and had four cats that are missing him like crazy. He also adopted a few homeless pets, including a cat named Samantha, a racoon named Raul and a possum named Pedro. He loved football and was an avid Patriots fan. Early in life, he attended a basketball camp at Howard University and later played for Frederick High School until he had an ankle injury. He enjoyed deep sea fishing with grandpa and was immensely proud of the fish they caught. Their fishing trips ranged from the waters of Delaware to New York to Massachusetts. He also loved cooking, especially fish and smoking meats. In addition, he enjoyed listening to music. Darius attended Stonegate Elementary in Silver Spring, MD and later moved to Frederick, MD. He attended Whittier Elementary in 3rd grade where he met his best friend, Lawrence Simmons. Lawrence and Darius have been best friends since that meeting; they were like brothers. Darius then went to West Frederick Middle School and graduated from Frederick High School in 2012. He later attended Frederick Community College and worked as a caregiver for family and friends. Darius was a person who truly had his friends and loved ones' best interest. Whenever you needed him, he would be there for you. Even when he did not feel well, he would push himself to be there for others. He had an unselfish soul. We know he is watching us from Heaven right now and will be there for us even more now as he has no limits. Darius' funeral will be on Tues., May 26, 2020, with a viewing from 10 to noon at Key Memorial Chapel at Mount Olivet Cemetery (515 S. Market St. Frederick, MD 21701). Service will be at noon in the chapel. He will be laid to rest at Mount Olivet shortly thereafter. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, gatherings are limited to 10 or less people.
