Craig Nathaniel Randolph Obituary (1959 - 2018)

Craig "Corey" Nathaniel Randolph Craig was just 58 years old when he passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown M.D. He was born July 5, 1959 in Frederick to Robert "Bobby" Randolph and the late Betty Cartnail. Craig was diagnosed with kidney failure 25 years ago and continued to fight with dignity and grace right until the end. Craig was very close to his family, his friends, and his beloved healthcare providers. Craig was good to his friends and employers, working as a nurse's aide in his early years. This knowledge of the medical field came in handy as Craig battled his own health issues later in life. Craig loved the Lord and would tell anyone how great God was to him. You could always feel the sincerity and passion in his testimony. Craig's second love was his dad, Bobby Randolph. Craig loved his dad more than anyone else in life. Craig and his dad were truly best friends and if there was ever an issue or problem or if Craig got upset, only his dad could calm him down. A father-son bond this strong can never be broken as it lives on forever in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to witness it. Craig was a man who didn't have a mean bone in his body, a warm friendly man who made his mark in the world not with grand gestures or fancy titles, but by the basic goodness and generosity, and by the quality of his involvement with his fellow man, and how he brought out these qualities in others. There were many wonderful aspects to Craig's life, and many ways that he touched our lives. He will be remembered as a wonderful brother, a great friend, a generous uncle, cousin, God fearing man, a music player, candy collector, and a friendly face in town. In all these ways and more, he made our lives richer and fuller. Now that he has passed away, of course there is emptiness and pain, confusion and maybe even anger at death coming to a man of only 58 years, but in many ways, the gift of Craig's life is still here with us. He lives on in our memories and stories, and in what all of us have become because of him. So, I encourage you to share -today, tomorrow and in the years to come- your memories and stories, and to share the pain of your loss as well. In this way we will keep the gift of Craig's life alive.
