Catherine Ann Norwood Obituary (1937 - 2012)

Catherine Ann Norwood 74, formally of Roxbury, N.C. passed away peacefully on March 5, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.She was born July 22, 1937 to the late Charles L. and Caroline M. Norwood. She attended school in Roxboro, Person County, N.C.For many years after high school she lived in New York City and California.Catherine has lived in the Montevue Home in Frederick, MD for the past 12 years. She is survived by one sister; Charlotte and her husband Howard Whims; one brother, Curtis Norwood of New Jersey; six nephews, Dana Whims wife Patricia of Davenport, FL, Vaughn, Darryl wife Eleanor of Frederick, Edgar wife Sharon, Ronald and David all of North Carolina; four nieces, Charlotte Renee husband Scott, Stephanie Brooks, Denise Brooks and Natalie Norwood all of Frederick; great nephews and nieces, Juanita Brooks, Cassandra Whims, Charles Brooks, Desmond Dixon, Taylor Cameron, Jerrell Costley, Destiny, Mylique and Diamonte Christian, Spencer Whims and Christopher Norwoord; great-great nieces, Tieara Forman, Jasmine & Amya Whims; family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers; Charles, Carl and Clifton; and two sisters Celestine and Carol Norwood. Family will receive friend on Monday March 12, 2012 at Gary L. Rollins Funeral, 110 West South Street, Frederick, MD 21701 at 11 am.Funeral services will begin at 11:30 am. Pastor Erma Dyson will officiate.Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
