Alexis DeLauter Foster Obituary (1970 - 2014)

Mrs. Alexis Antoinette "Lecky" DeLauter-Foster, formerly of Frederick, MD, died unexpectedly at the age of 44. She resided at 204 Santa Maria Ave., Colonial Beach, VA. She departed this life on Monday, November 3, 2014, at her home. Alexis was born on August 13, 1970, in Washington, D.C. She was the daughter of William V. DeLauter and the late Gloria J. DeLauter. She was the loving wife of Major Jimmie Foster Jr. Alexis attended Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick, MD and she went on to become a Certified Phlebotomist. Lecky loved going out to eat with Jim at their favorite spot, Red Lobster. She loved shopping for the kids, getting her hair and nails done, traveling, getting tattoos, and piercings. She loved jewelry, cars (especially old ones and fixing them up), animals, spending time with family, and giving back to the community. In addition to her husband, Alexis is survived by her children, Leah DeLauter, Ebony Thomas (Camron), Jimmie Foster III, Keane Foster, Christian Foster, Jaden Foster, Kydorian Foster, and Makai Foster; 2 sisters, Karen Taper (Mark) and Dr. Terri DeLauter-Thomas (Glen); 2 brothers, Victor DeLauter (fiancee Marian) and Aaron DeLauter; stepmother, Theresa Chase-DeLauter; stepsister, Niya Thomas; stepbrother, Leslie Thomas Jr; 2 uncles, Irvin DeLauter and Ivan DeLauter; aunt, Pam DeLauter; parents-in-law, Jimmie Sr. and Shizue Foster; 2 brothers-in-law, John Foster (Emily) and Robert Foster (Gwen); sister-in-law, Marcella Twyman (Kenneth); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her mother, Alexis was preceded in death by son, Pierre Foster; aunt Janet Dixon; and grandparents, William and Dorothy DeLauter and Edith and Votie Dixon III. Services will be held on November 14, 2014, at Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home, 110 W. South Street, Frederick, MD. Public viewing is at 9 a.m., family will receive friends at 10 a.m., and the funeral will begin at 11 am. Reverend Charlotte Scott, officiating.
