Howard Eugene Lyles Obituary (1949 - 2014)

Howard Eugene Lyles Jr., 65, of Frederick, MD, passed away at his residence on Mon., Sept. 8, 2014. He was born on Aug. 15, 1949 to the late Howard Eugene Sr. and Helen Mary Weedon. Howard attended Gaithersburg High School, graduated in 1970 and then entered the military. He worked at NIST for 40 years and retired Sept. 5, 2014. He loved playing horseshoes, listening to music, and enjoying the company of close friends. He was a true Redskins fan. Howard is survived by: 2 sisters, Linda Lyles and Christine Cooper; 5 brothers, Fred Lyles, David Lyles, Nelson Lyles, Tony Lyles, and Russell Lyles; 3 sisters-in-law, Lynette Lyles, Stephanie Lyles, and Robin Lyles; brother-in-law, James Cooper; 14 nieces; 3 nephews; ex-wife, Adeline Delores Lyles; her 3 children, Roger, Dante, and Lamonte; longtime companion, Etta Williams; and her 2 children, Nettie and Randy Brooks. A special thanks goes out to some of his close friends: Walter Pryor, Buster, Pork Chop, Jerome, and Buster Perry. In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his nephew, Tony Lyles Jr. Services will be held on Tues., Sept. 16, 2014, at Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, MD, with a wake at 10 a.m. and funeral service at 11 a.m.
