Robert (Bobby) LaGuardia Griffin .Sr. was the eldest of four children born on March 28, 1942, in Yorktown, VA, to the late Eugene and Henrietta Griffin. He lived a blessed life, then the Lord called him home on Wednesday, February 20, 2013.
Robert, called “Bobby” or “Griff” by many, graduated from James Weldon Johnson High School in Yorktown, VA. He had been employed by the Montgomery County Liquor Board since 1968.
Griff was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He owned lots of Cowboys items, beyond the basic jersey, t-shirt or sweatshirt including watches, sneakers and a toaster. He loved his cars and listening to good music. He was known for having the cleanest car in town. He could always be found washing and waxing his already clean car.
Surviving are four children: four daughters, Zina McCreary (Michael) of the United Kingdom, Donna Goines (Bill) of Frederick, MD, Clarice Griffin of Elkridge, MD; son Robert Griffin, Jr. (Valorie) of Thurmont, MD; stepdaughter Valerie Diggs of Frederick, MD; five granddaughters, Tara Diggs, Frezara Griffin and Sha’cora Goines, all of Frederick, MD, and Monique and Mariah McCreary (UK); three great grand kids, Trayvon Weedon, Nyi’Jaya Williams, and October Holloway; six step-grand kids; two sisters, Helen Griffin of Tennessee and Gene Weedon of Frederick; brother Stanley Griffin (Jeanie) of Frederick, MD; nephew Jamel Griffin (Tamara) of Tennessee; and numerous other loved ones and friends.
Bobby will also be remembered by Mildred Griffin, former wife and mother of his children, of Frederick, MD and long time devoted friend Ruth Dockery . In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by close friend Luther “Luke” Ray.

Bobby brought so many happy moments in our life and left us with a treasure trove of memories full of love and laughter. Family, friends, strangers -- when you were in his presence laughter filled the room (even the day God took him home). Family; find comfort in knowing Bobby loved life and live it honorably by working hard and helping those around him. Another Angel in Heaven to watch over us! Until we meet again...

My Dear Friend/Brother: How the girls and I will miss you. Your crazy sense of humor, the love you showed us, the great friendship we had. These things will never be forgotten. You fought a good fight with dignity, courage, and always a smile on your face. As you travel the Kings Highway, I know you will leave behind with all of us a piece of you to get us through the "rough times" in the memory of something funny you have told us at one time. The girls and I will not say goodbye, only so long until we meet again. Peace! Light! and Love!

Mr. Griffin was a good man. He will be sorely missed here at Tate. We enjoyed his frequent visits. He loved his performance cars and had a great appreciation for the vehicles he drove as well as the ones he looked forward to driving. God bless, Mr. Griffin.

Dear Family of Mr. Griffin,
I want to express my sincere sympathy to you on your loss. I am Donald Price's daughter and I would visit with my Dad usually in the AM at the nursing home. Mr. Griffin was always so kind to my Dad and he was trying to look out for him because my Dad has dementia. I enjoyed talking with your Dad and would always ask him if I could help him and usually the answer was no, but I want you to know that he spoke highly of his family and friends. He was a great roommate to my Dad. You will be our thoughts and prayers.

always kept your cars really clean. I know you're in heaven with my stepdad and
